Strap on a pair of hiking shoes and begin your adventure on the extensive walking paths that wind throughout the property. Along the way admire the diversity of geography and beautiful plant habitats. From February to November you’ll always find beautiful native ferns and wildflowers blooming along the trail. Check the maps and connect with trails just beyond our border that go for hundreds of miles, and eventually connect to the infamous Appalachian Trail. The property boasts 8 footbridges that criss-cross the scenic Conasauga Creek and its tributary streams. Dip your feet into the pristine stream and encourage the kids to splash about while looking for treasure.
Pan for gold and gems or look for crawdads and salamanders. Discover the private tree top deck that sits high above the creek and offers a bird’s eye view of the creek and the valley beyond. Explore the meadow below the house and try your hand at horseshoes or bocce. Bring the football and play a game of tag football in the meadow. The property’s park-like setting has additional sitting areas, picnic tables, swings, and multiple campfire rings in which to help you immerse yourself in the beauty of your surroundings.

Situated at the foot of the Cohutta Mountain range, and bordering the US Forest Service, Wit’s End is ground zero for exploring the dozens of mountain biking and hiking trails in the area. These trails can transport you back in time to primordial old growth forests that host some of the temperate world’s most diverse plant life and carry you to pristine mountain streams, breathtaking vistas, and stunning waterfalls in the adjoining Chattahoochee National Forest, neighboring Cohutta Wilderness, Lake Conasauga Songbird Management Area, and nearby Fort Mountain State Park.
The Pinhoti Trailhead, popular with mountain bikers, is a mere 2/10 of a mile from Wit’s End. The Pinhoti Trail connects to the Benton MacKaye Trail (named for the founder of the Appalachian Trail) which eventually intersects with the infamous Appalachian Trail. The ever evolving and growing Mulberry Gap Mountain Bike Get-a-way is just 2 miles up the road. Shh!! It’s my understanding that if you call ahead and are real nice, you might be able to reserve yourself a spot at their famous country breakfast buffet that they serve to their guests.
